The Friends You'll Meet Along the Way

The Breathing Space Project is a gentle world where children are invited to understand themselves through connection, movement, breath, storytelling and self-discovery.

Alongside Emma are Fenn the Fox and Willow the Wolf, whose adventures gently help children explore busy thoughts, big feelings and discover that the Quiet Place has been with them all along.

Walking beside them are four trusted wellbeing guides — Connie Connect, Momo Move, Breezy Breathe and Nori Notice — each helping children connect, move, breathe and notice in playful, practical ways.

Together, they create a calm, welcoming world where every child is encouraged to grow in confidence, curiosity and emotional wellbeing.

More Than A Wellbeing Programme

Not about learning to calm down. About learning to understand.

The Breathing Space Project is not about teaching children to simply calm down. It is about helping them understand themselves.

Through movement, storytelling, breathwork, creativity, play and reflection, children are invited to explore their thoughts, feelings, body sensations and experiences with curiosity rather than judgement.

Because when children learn to connect, move, breathe and notice, they begin to discover that the calm, confidence and wisdom they need are often closer than they think.

Connection Before Correction

Helping children feel safe, seen and understood before expecting them to regulate, perform or learn.

Self-Awareness Before Self-Regulation

Supporting children to become curious about their inner world rather than simply being told to calm down.

Story-Led Emotional Wellbeing

Using storytelling, imagination, creativity and play to make wellbeing meaningful and memorable.

Designed For Real Children

Created with anxiety, neurodiversity, overwhelm and modern childhood challenges in mind.

About The Founder

Meet Emma

A nurse, educator, wellbeing practitioner… and a parent who believes every child deserves to understand themselves.

The Breathing Space Project wasn't created from a business plan.

It grew from a lifelong journey of caring for people.

Emma's background includes nursing, military medicine, education and children's wellbeing. Across every role, one question kept returning:

Why do so many children grow up believing there is something wrong with them, when really they just haven't been shown how to understand themselves?

Like many adults, Emma spent years searching outside herself for confidence, happiness and self-worth, before discovering that the calm and peace she had been looking for had quietly been there all along.

That discovery changed everything.

It inspired Emma to create The Breathing Space Project so children could learn these skills much earlier in life.

Rather than teaching children to simply "calm down," the project helps them become curious about themselves.

Through movement, storytelling, breathing, play, creativity and reflection, children begin to notice their thoughts, feelings and body sensations with kindness instead of fear.

Because when children learn to understand themselves, confidence grows naturally.

The Breathing Space Project is built around one simple belief:

The Quiet Place isn't somewhere children have to find. It's something they begin to notice has always been there.

Every programme, story, character and activity is designed to gently remind children of that truth.

I don't want children to spend thirty years searching for the peace that was inside them all along.
